Mousehold Heath - Green Hairstreak

On Wednesday lunch time the sun was shining and I had half remembered a rumor that Green Hairstreak were on Mousehold Heath so I thought why not and headed up for a look.

The last time I saw Green Hairstreak was at Holme in 1998 (4th May) so I was keen to see one again, with my new found interests in Butterflies.

I first came across this Squash Bug (thanks for the ID Robert)

Then this Magpie, a few Orange Tips were about and Blackcaps were singing in every bush.

And then finally a Green Hairstreak!!

Today I went for a run and caught up with Small Copper and Wall.
